employee benefits

Attracting and retaining quality employees is a challenge for any business.

In today’s competitive economy, companies must offer competitive compensation packages. While hourly wages & salaries represent the large part of this package, as much as one-third of your employees’ overall compensation might be comprised of fringe benefits. Detailed analysis of your benefits program should be an integral part of your overall business planning, and will have an impact on the bottom line.

voluntary benefits

Why employee & employers favor Voluntary Benefits...

In today’s environment, many employers are reluctant to provide their employees with additional benefits due to the financial strain of soaring health care costs. In fact, some employers have been forced to eliminate benefits they once provided to their employees. This leaves a void for many employees as they traditionally have counted on their employer to provide such benefits as Life, Disability, Dental and Vision insurance.

What’s more, the aging of baby boomers has uncovered a need for pre-retirement planning that may also have a home in a package of Voluntary Benefits

Voluntary offerings allow individuals to pick and choose the benefits they need and desire. Many benefits offered through payroll deduction can be placed under your Section 125 so that the deductions are made on a pre-tax basis. If approached properly, voluntary benefit planning can be an extremely useful tool in helping you to improve your employee’s overall job satisfaction.

What are the advantages for employers

Voluntary benefits are normally offered to employees through payroll deduction. Therefore, there can be NO DIRECT COST to you the employer. Of course, there is some administration involved as with any benefit program. But we work with you to carefully select the right mix of benefits for your company. We help you choose venders with not only the best benefit/cost combination, but also the smoothest administrative process. However, the biggest advantage is the increased overall satisfaction your employees experience from having the ability to fulfill some of their individual financial needs through payroll deduction.

What’s involved?

At Whalen Insurance Associates, we can help assess the needs of your employees by conducting employee surveys to determine what products will be most desired by your people. Worksite offerings available include:

After we determine the products, services and companies to be offered, we conduct informational meetings. We work with selected vendors to communicate and implement programs that benefit everyone concerned.

what is cobra?

COBRA is a federal law that assures employees who leave your company that they will have continuing healthcare coverage for their families. The law requires you (the employer) to provide continuing coverage to former employees, and to document their notifications and communications.

Let us show you how we can provide compliance solutions for you!
